STATE Legal Affairs Minister Damian Gomez yesterday confirmed he has been diagnosed with a cardiovascular illness after a recent collapse that sent him to hospital for two days.
Mr Gomez is now back at his office after the incident, which happened 11 days ago.
According to “The Eleutheran”, Mr Gomez who is also Central and South Eleuthera MP, admitted he had fallen ill while visiting his constituency. However, he said, the outcome could have been fatal if he had collapsed at the island, because there were no hospital facilities.
Mr Gomez told “The Eleutheran” that since the incident he has met with Prime Minister Perry Christie to share his concerns with a view to having the construction of a hospital on the island expedited.
