POLICE have no new leads and no suspects in custody in connection with three of the country’s latest homicides - including the shooting death of a police officer.
They are appealing to members of the public for any information that can assist in solving these murders “in a timely matter.”
The latest homicide took place shortly after 8pm on Friday in Nassau Village where, according to police, a man and his brother were at their home on Forbes Street when three men armed with handguns approached them and fired shots. The brothers attempted to run but one was shot multiple times. He died of his injuries in the Soldier Road area on the way to the hospital.
The second homicide took place around 7pm on Thursday. According to reports, an off duty police officer, who has been identified as Sergeant 145 Wayne Rolle, was sitting in a jeep with a female friend on Durham Street off Montrose Avenue when he was shot by two armed men.
A man currently out on bail for a double murder was arrested shortly after the murder, however The Tribune understands he has been released from custody. Police have made no other arrests in relation to this murder.
The third homicide happened shortly after 2am on Thursday. Police said three men were driving in their vehicle heading east along the East West Highway when the car stopped because several large stones were blocking the intersection by Abundant Life Road.
One man exited the vehicle to remove the stones and two men wearing black hoodies and black tams approached, ordering the other men out of the car. Two victims were shot and were both taken to hospital but one of the men was pronounced dead when he arrived.
No one is in custody for this murder but police believe the suspects live in the Abundant Life Road area.
Anyone with information on any of these homicides is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS. Investigations into all these homicides continue.
Up to press time last night, the country had recorded 114 murders for the year according to The Tribune’s records.

I wonder why? Is this a random robbery? Why in the head? So many questions and no answers.. I would think the police would be all over this since it's one of their own. : (

In face today's news this is an interesting turn around to those Comrade bloggers calling for
vigilante justice, who once they get used hang um high by neck until they is dead, dead - it hard them change they "kill them" too in name state mindset. Thank God the policeman's think they did right thing and are not listening to give them bloggers begging for equal street justice be dished out, thereby saving state from having to hold costly trails.
