Progress made in investigation into police sergeant's murder

AUTHORITIES last night said they were making “extremely good” progress in their investigations into the murder of police sergeant, Wayne Rolle.

According to Acting Deputy Commissioner Anthony Ferguson, police ramped up their work over the last few days as they sought to bring closure to the case.

“I’m encouraged by the work that the team has been doing over the last 24 hours,” Mr Ferguson told reporters.

“We shall be coming to you very shortly to give you some more details as it relates to that investigation.”

Rolle was shot dead as he sat inside his SUV along with a female friend on December 4.

He was found slumped over in the vehicle at Montrose Avenue and Durham Street.
