Police are requesting the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that left a man dead on Monday night.

According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm the driver of a Route #1 Public Service Bus pulled up to Southern Police Station located on Market Street and alerted the officers of an incident that occurred on the bus. The officers entered the bus and found the lifeless body of a male with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the lower portion of his body. EMS personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
