Man held after being shot during break-in attempt

A 18-year-old man is in police custody after he was shot attempting to break into a vehicle early yesterday morning.

The incident happened around 3am.
Police say the suspect was attempting to break into an omni-bus on Strachan’s Hill Estates off Fire Trail Road but was caught by the owner of the bus, who shot him in his shoulder with his licensed firearm.

The suspect was taken by ambulance to hospital where he is listed in stable condition and is under police guard.

Investigations are ongoing.

In other crime news, two men, ages 36 and 26, are in police custody after they were arrested in connection with the discovery of dangerous drugs on Tuesday.

Police say shortly after 10.30am, Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence, were on saturation patrol on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway when they observed two men acting suspiciously.

The officers conducted a search and found a quantity of marijuana. The two men are being questioned as police feel they have information that could be relevant to the investigation.
