MURDER, prejudice and doubt are just a few of the themes that drive the story of the classic drama “12 Angry Men”, a live stage production that closed this past weekend after a successful 10-day run at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts.
The production was presented by Ringplay Productions, a local theatre group that now manages the Dundas theatre and features many veterans and a few newcomers to the stage.
Set in 1950s New York City, “12 Angry Men” follows the conflict, doubt and responsibility that a jury has in deciding the fate of a young man accused of killing his father. The well-known play has been adapted into multiple films and is considered one of the modern classics.
The Bahamian cast included Dundas veterans David Burrows, Anthony ‘Skeebo’ Roberts, Graham Thordarson, Marcel Sherman, Gregory Deane, Mark Humes, Calnan Weech and Sean Nottage. A number of film and TV personalities are appeared, including Kareem Mortimer, Matthew Wildgoose and Kevin Love, as well as newcomers Bruno Barr and Gregory Stubbs.
Ringplay Productions is a not-for-profit Bahamian company founded in 2001 by some of the most experienced actors, directors and theatre creatives in the country. Ringplay is dedicated to furthering the development of the arts in The Bahamas by presenting the best in national, regional and world theatre.
