Two injured in drive-by

TWO MEN are fighting for their lives in hospital after they were shot during a drive-by shooting Saturday night.

The incident happened around 8:30pm in Yellow Elder Gardens.

According to reports, the men were at Melvern Drive when they heard the sound of gunshots and tyres screeching. Moments later, they both realised that they had been shot, one in his leg, the other in his abdomen.

They were taken to hospital where one of the men is listed in serious, but stable condition, and the other in serious condition.

In other crime news, police are asking for the public’s help in locating four men and two teenage boys responsible for three armed robberies in New Providence over the weekend.

In the first incident, shortly after 7pm on Saturday, a woman had just pulled up at her Twynam Heights home, when two men armed with a handgun robbed her of her silver 2003 Nissan Sunny vehicle, license plate number 27070, and sped off.

About an hour later, shortly after 8pm, a man was in the parking lot of a business on Soldier Road, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of a set of keys and a gold chain before fleeing in a green Toyota.

In the final incident around 9:30pm, two women were at Roberto Street in Ridgeland Park when two teenage boys on bicycles, armed with a firearm, robbed them of two cell phones and rode off.
