PRIME Minister Perry Christie yesterday dodged questions on whether or not he would seek re-election, instead declaring that the answer ultimately rested on public opinion.
Mr Christie said he was focused solely on getting results for the government in a bid to deliver on his party’s election campaign promises.
He added that while mistakes may be made in his haste to “drag” the government along its mandate, the pace of progress must not be broken.
“(Re-election) that’s not important to me now, the fact is people keep talking about whether I’m running again or not,” he said. “You know who decides whether I’m running again? Firstly, me and my family but really the people, the members of Parliament and the political organisations throughout the country.
“So I’m not going to be distracted by that now, people are saying that I am running again, that’s fine – they can say that. I am running to get results for the Progressive Liberal Party, the government, that’s all I’m running for. “I’m running full speed ahead all the time and I have not taken a day off since (the) election.”
Mr Christie added: “I’m dragging the government in this regard, there will be people who make mistakes in the process. We’ll have to correct those mistakes, but we are moving forward resolutely to deliver what we promised the people of this country.
Before taking office in 2012, Mr Christie indicated that he would consider stepping down as party leader mid-term and name a successor.
However, the prime minister has since been evasive over his political future.

We really are sinking to depths previously unknown, even by PLP standards.
No shame individually, collectively, PLP business as usual but tenfold.
As for the country deciding anything, how could they when all revolves around the upper echelon "my turn" mentality?

Soon the peoples will turn their once chosen party's t-shirts into washrags. Comrades more Importantly, Bahamalnders don't really care much, if PM Christie or Hubert stick around to lead their respective political machines into the 2017 General Elections. The peoples have decided to mark their X's next to the ballot box which will finally offer voters a option to vote against an automatic renewal of unaccountable power and manipulation over far too many mandates, carried-out by both the red and gold shirts leaders at the expense of the peoples of Bahamalamd. Comrades fundamentally, the Christie and Hubert form of democracy is looked-upon as governance by Christie, Hubert and select friends, and not for the betterment of the peoples. Come 2017, is the day the peoples get to be transparent, over the illegitimacy of a Christie or Hubert regime. Both PM are guilty of having turned over the sovereignty of Bahamaland to foreigners, with the majority being being allowed to work and live here illegally.
Amen!

Well you know Jesus fed the four thousand and the five thousand, raised the dead, cured the sick and drove out demons . and the people were not pleased. Those who depend on others to make things happen and the mean spirited will never be happy or content, Because they do not know how to make things happen for themselves, they are dependent on others. And persons will fail you. It is my opinion that the PLP helps the poor more .. I look to neither PLP or FNM for help, When my knees hit the Ground I say "Jesus" And I am doing great, Wonderful.

Does not matter @ this point, the country & its most valuable assets have been sold... For the average Bahamian paying off huge sums of debt to the world & trying to survive in a over priced, dangerous society, over ran by illegals & corruption is the reality no matter who gets elected.
