Man dies, woman hurt in car accident

POLICE are investigating a traffic accident early today that has left a man dead and a woman seriously injured in hospital.

Preliminary reports are that, shortly after 4am, a white Honda Civic being driven by a woman was travelling south along Bethel Avenue north, when it lost control and crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle then careened a few feet along a cliff before it came to a sudden stop.

The male passenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A female was transported to hospital where she is detained in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

Fishing trip ends in tragedy in Harbour Island

POLICE in Eleuthera are investigating the death of a man following a fishing trip yesterday afternoon.

Preliminary reports are that, shortly before 2pm, the victim was on a fishing trip with his brother off Harbour Island, when he began to experience severe chest pains while diving in the water.

The victim was rushed to the local clinic in critical condition where he later died.

another example of speeding, talking on the phone, not paying attention, or knowing how to drive?! Seems like an epidemic is going on with all these accidents.....and have you seen all the street light knocked over on JFK Blvd? Looks like people are trying to knock all of them over..
