Show others respect

EDITOR, The Tribune.

When are black Bahamians and other black people around the world, going to stop inflicting their religion on the rest of us by way of talk shows, sports meets and other public functions? How insensitive, immature, disrespectful of other people.

My thoughts are, if you have to pray at every turn in your life, then do it before you leave home. Or a least ask for a moment of silence, for those who do not believe in the same things that you do, we do have that right, you know.

I wish you would show me and our visitors that much respect. Even your God told his believers to respect others, who might not share your faith. I think he told you that when you want to pray to him to go into the room, lock the door behind you and speak to your father in spirit and in truth, not showing off over some PA system, that is insulting your foreign guests, who unlike you, have the politeness to be quiet when it is you that should shut up.

They do not treat you in that manner when you visit them.
Grow up, you are in the big league now. Stop acting like brainwashed Christian slaves. You are free now. You can go back to your old time religion your ancestors had, instead of this one that your slave masters gave you and apparently it is still working to keep you stupid, fearful, uncreative, mean and devious to everybody that don’t look like you. Time to change that.

Strive to be a good person, not a vindictive one. Be nice to strangers, remember you were once a stranger in another land. What goes around comes around, you can put money on that.

The average Bahamian does not respect himself, how in the hell is he going to respect anyone else?
