GRAND Bahama Police have released the name of the American visitor who reportedly drowned in Abaco as 63-year-old Russell Weisbender, of Manhattan, Kansas.

Mr Weisbender was snorkelling with a group of persons at Mermaid Beach, Marsh Harbour, when he failed to resurface. According to police reports, he was recovered from under the water by another man. CPR was administered, but Mr Weisbender could not be revived. He was pronounced dead by a doctor from the Marsh Harbour Clinic.
