Steven Rolle dominates sculling races

STEVEN Rolle continues to dominate the National Family Island Regatta sculling races, taking victory at Salt Pond, Long Island, recently to follow his success in Exuma. He will race in the national championship in New Providence in November with Clifton Wells, who he beat into second place at Long Island, also taking a place.

Next stop for the Sands ‘Man in the Boat’ sculling race will be Freeport for the Grand Bahama Regatta on July 18–19. The winners of all this year’s sculling, involving competitors from throughout The Bahamas, races will feature in the championship. Danny Knowles placed third at Long Island.

The Bahamian Brewery and Beverage is pleased with the support that Bahamians have shown by participating in the races and hopes that sculling will regain the notoriety it once had. “We had a beautiful time in Long Island,” said Lynden Johnson, the company’s sales and marketing manager. “We’ve been on a mission to bring sculling back throughout the islands and we’re definitely seeing both interest and excitement for our races. The Brewery team can’t wait for the next race which will be on our home island, Grand Bahama.”
