THE Bahamas Telecommunications Company informed customers yesterday that they may experience slow internet speeds and dropped calls due to ongoing work on its network.
The statement said: “BTC’s mobile internet optimisation programme for improved network stabilisation is set for completion in late July.
“During this maintenance period customers may experience intermittent slower internet speeds and dropped calls. BTC apologises and thanks customers for their patience and understanding. When the upgrades are complete, we expect BTC customers to experience significant improvements relative to speed, overall accessibility and service stability.”

Why should we need a "warning"? This is typical of BTC these days, and the shoddy and incompetent service we've grown accustomed to. What would be news is if we actually had good service and didn't have dropped calls and ghost charges on our bills all the time!
