Silence over these modern-day slaves

EDITOR, TheTribune.

Without wishing to make any political capital out of this disgraceful tragedy, the absolute silence of the local and foreign Caricom “Reparations Committee Members” is deafening.

Boko Haram, an African Group, have publicly stated that they are going to “sell” these children (SLAVES), and Minister Mitchell ain’t peeped yet. Much less anyone else who so heartily denounces slavery when white people purchased the “slaves” from Africans like Boko Haram.

Why have the Reparations Group not already gone to Nigeria to sue the Boko Haram, on behalf of these modern day slaves, destined to be sold into marriage and sexual servitude?

I would have expected a Bahamas uprising by now!

I hope everyone involved in this Reparations Group realizes who is selling these females for $12 in the marketplace: THEIR OWN PEOPLE! After so many years this is still going on, and would not have continued in the first place if one group wasn't willing to sell another for a few $$$$.
