THE Island Luck Pros surprised the defending champions to join the Read Deal Shockers with a perfect two wins, no losses record for the season on Saturday night in New Providence Basketball Association play at the AF Adderley Gymnasium.

Despite being shorthanded, the Island Luck Pros, led by Kevin Wright Jr, pulled off the upset over the defending champions.
Wright stuffed the stat sheet with a 26 point, six rebound and six assist performance to lead his team to a nearly wire-to-wire win.
Derek Ferguson added 20 points and shot 4-9 from three point range, Jason Mitchell Jr added 19 points, Miguel Mackey finished with 15 and Ron Marshall added 13 off the bench.
Michael Bain Jr led the Giants with a team high 23 points, Kevin Hinsey added 20 points and 10 rebounds, Elvardo Burrows finished with 14, Patrick Brice added 11 and Robson Memnon chipped in with 10.
It was their efficiency at the line and second chance points, that made the difference for the Pros in the final bocx score.
Both teams were nearly even from the field, but the Pros shot 70 per cent (31-44) from the line and outscored the Giants 31-19.
They also outscored the Giants 26-10 in second chance points.
Mitchell scored the game’s opening basket and the Pros raced out to an early 14-4 advantage. They led by as much as 15 in the quarter when Mackey made a pair at the line for a 24-9 lead.
Island Luck took the first quarter 24-16, and after a 33-point second quarter, took a 57-38 lead into the half.
In the second half, the Pros led by as much as 20, but never allowed the lead to shrink to less than seven en route to the win.

Rhythm Rebels 62
Boosted by a high scoring first quarter and a stingy defensive effort, the Shockers moved to 2-0 for the season.
William Rigby finished with a double double, 21 points and 11 rebounds, Floyd Armbrister add 16 points and Antoine Levarity chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Devon Brennen led the Rebels with 17 points while Deangelo Duncombe chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Shockers dominated from the opening tip and led 14-0 after Rigby’s three pointer at the 6.02 mark.
They led 30-13 after the first quarter and 40-31 at the half.
The Rebels came within two points when A Williams split a pair at the line to make the score 43-41 with 7.28 to play in the quarter.
The Shockers regained a nine-point lead at the end of the third and held the Rebels to just 11 points in the fourth.

Anthony Sands scored just four points, but his basket with 29 seconds left to play lifted the Caribs to a win on their season debut.
Justin Smith led the Caribs with 24 points while Franklin McKenzie added 13.
Jamaris King led the Cleaners with 17 points, Perez Thompson added 13 and Dax Evans chipped in with 10.

Devon Ferguson led three Stingers in double figures with a game high 23 points and eight rebounds.
Able Joseph finished with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, Kimsey Sylvester added 15 points and eight rebounds while Jervonne Atkins finished with 12 points and nine boards.
David Taylor was the lone Rockets player in double figures with 20.
