A BAHAMIAN couple has been arrested and accused of possessing a large quantity of US currency believed to have been obtained by illegal means.

Around noon on Wednesday, Drug Enforcement Unit officers, acting on information, went to a residence in the Yeoman’s Wood area, where they discovered a clear plastic bag containing a large amount of US currency as well as an assortment of jewellery.

A 38-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were arrested and taken into police custody. Investigations are continuing.
