Scotiabank backs education efforts

Scotiabank partnered with the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) as it hosted its 16th annual golf tournament.

The tournament took place at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Sunday, October 5. Invited golfers teamed up for a two-person scramble tournament, which produced an afternoon of fierce but friendly competition.

“We are pleased to support the vision of the Bahamas Hotel & Tourism Association in assisting students with scholarship and education training initiatives,” said Scotiabank’s vice-president of corporate and commercial banking, Jim Wilson.

“We have partnered with the BHTA for almost a decade, and pledge our continued support in making a difference while creating a bright future in the lives of underprivileged children.”

Scotiabank has contributed more than $43 million worldwide to community causes focused on health, education, social services arts and culture.

In addition to Scotiabank’s corporate efforts, employees at all levels volunteer their time, skills and money to support community causes.
