A CONFRONTATION between irate taxi drivers and tour operators turned physical yesterday during a protest at the Prince George Wharf.
The taxi drivers staged the protest at the tourist hub because they are upset over concerns that tour operators are reportedly edging them out of the market.
A group of irate taxi drivers and tour operators exchanged heated words before things escalated.
At one point, one driver threw an object at another and several drivers began pushing each other, The Tribune was told.
However, police were able to clear the scene before things escalated further.
Last November, some 50 agitated taxi drivers protested outside Parliament to highlight grievances over the government’s decision to relocate drivers during renovations to the Welcome Centre at the Prince George Dock.
At the time, the drivers said they were not consulted over the move.

Saw a clip on last night's Cable 12 News. Lots of "carryin' on bad" behavior. I hope no tourists saw this.
