AUTISM awareness was the focus of events last week at both Baha Mar and in Rawson Square.
Last Thursday was World Autism Awareness Day, and the Baha Mar resort joined landmarks around the world - such as the Empire State Building, Niagara Falls and Egypt’s Great Pyramid - in turning blue for the occasion.
Meanwhile, in Rawson Square, the traditional “Light It Up Blue” ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Perry Christie.
Also present at the ceremony was the President of Trinidad and Tobago, Anthony Carmona, and his wife, Reema.
The Bahamas REACH organisation received a donation from Junior Achievement during the event.
At Baha Mar, employee Bruce Roberts, 22, who has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, watched the resort light up with his family.
Mr Roberts, who will be working as a bellman at Baha Mar’s SLS Lux, is one of several employees at the resort with intellectual and developmental disorders who graduated from the resort’s Leadership Development Institute.

This is very nice! I didn't know about this. I think important buildings all over the world should join and light up blue on this day. It's a small thing to do, really, but I think it very good for awareness. [George][1]

Comrades I sure hope I am mistaken or did I actually hear a representative on a talk radio show this morning from The Bahamas REACH organization, make a "hint" that Vaccines
DO Cause Autism? If so, what quackery are they spreading to unsuspecting parents? If I heard correctly, I think REACH needs to explain why such quackery was being told to the public? And, if I heard wrong, they should correct set the record straight?
