THE Bahamas once again hosted a major sporting franchise as its sports tourism product continues to expand.
The New York Jets, of the National Football League, hosted the first ever “Jets Fan Cruise” and the Bahamas was one of the stops on the itinerary.
The Jets contingent, along with its fans, took over the Breezes Bahamas Resort and Spa where they participated in a beach party and beach Olympics.
Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and the resort were on hand to welcome the Jets.
Billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime, interactive vacation experience with the team,” the fan cruise offered fans the opportunity to spend four nights on a cruise with the players and fellow fans.
Other stops on the tour included Key West and Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
At each stop, the event offered football-themed activities and allowed fans to interact with Jets players and alumni.
Participating players on the Jets’ active roster included Tommy Bohanon, Quinton Coples, Jeff Cumberland, Demario Davis, Dalton Freeman, Jeremy Kerley, Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson.
