Bahamian singer Johnny Kemp dies age 55

Bahamian singer Johnny Kemp has died at the age of 55, according to reports.

Kemp, who was born in Nassau, is best known for his 1988 hit “Just Got Paid”, which made the Billboard top five and charted in the UK.

The circumstances of his death are unknown at this time. He was married with two sons.

Wow!!! What a tragedy! One of the Bahamas' greatest: I grew up partying to Johnny Kemp music @ Waterloo, Club Mystique, Confetti's and the Zoo!-Knew some of his family members well. I also had the opportunity to talk with him. He was a great entertainer! Condolences to all of his family.
