PRIME Minister Perry Christie yesterday made his 17th consecutive appearance at the annual Fox Hill Day celebrations, an event celebrated by Fox Hill residents to commemorate the emancipation of their ancestors from slavery.

Beginning at St Paul’s Baptist Church, Mr Christie, with Fox Hill MP and Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister Fred Mitchell, Deputy Prime Minister Philip Davis, South Andros MP Picewell Forbes and Financial Services Minister Hope Strachan, visited several Baptist churches holding ecumenical services in the Fox Hill area to commemorate this year’s celebrations.

Other churches visited by the government delegation were Macedonia Baptist Church, Mt Carey Baptist Church and St Mark’s Baptist Church.

At one point during the day, while at Mt Carey, Mr Christie performed the famous “Christie shuffle” for church members.

Mr Mitchell, who last week sang Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” in Parliament, was goaded by Mr Christie into signing the song again before the congregation.

Mr Mitchell also provided a dance for the church members.

Additionally, throughout the day, there were numerous tributes to the late Paula Tynes, wife of Maurice Tynes, chairman of the Fox Hill Festival Committee and chief clerk of the House of Assembly.

Mrs Tynes was also a member of the committee.

The delegation also visited the monument erected in memory of the victims killed in the Freedom Park shooting in Fox Hill on December 27, 2013.

The name Fox Hill derives from a freed African slave named Samuel Fox who was granted 23 acres of land in 1801.

The slave village that once stood in the area is said to have been the last to receive the news of emancipation, a week late.

This gd stupid dance again? Don't they get tired of doing foolishness when we're in crisis? God please bring 2017 forward.

Have these Fox Hilians looked at the state of their community recently? Have they compared how these people who smile at them, hug them, give them hollow accolades on their blind loyalty to the PLP and lead them in foolishness live compared to them?

Every year they show up for this sham of a ceremony and nothing changes

There is a time to laugh, and a time to cry, and a time to dance. If you folks can not laugh or dance and enjoy you all short lives to bad for all of you. The PM has a right to laugh and dance if he wishes. as far as it goes for you all, He is dammed if he do, and dammed if he don't. so dance on PM Christie, It is you God given right to do so.

Rather than put in place sensible policies to help Bahamian children get much better than a D- or E education in the public school system, Christie prefers to entertain them with a jig. This oaf has ruined and continues to ruin the lives of so many children; he seems to think the children only need a little dancing and prancing from him to make them happy. Well "No" Mr. PM; the children desperately need a quality education to give them a chance in life, a chance that obviously will never come about under your corrupt and lousy leadership of our country. Please resign......you are not indispensable to good government; you are a major obstacle to it!

Christie's cardiologist is not the least bit worried whenever Christie exerts himself doing his 'shuffle' gig; apparently Christie's heart has been strengthened by his unabashed ever growing greed! Christie's new found friends from mainland (red) China have allowed him to take his has "all for me baby" attitude and dealings to unimaginable heights of self-gain!!
