THE DUKE and Duchess of Cambridge are reported to be planning a major royal tour of the Caribbean with their two young children next year.
According to leading British newspaper, the Daily Mail, the Cambridges are expected to visit an assortment of the 16 Commonwealth countries where the Queen is Head of State. The Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands are said to be high on the list.
By the time of the trip – in February or March – Princess Charlotte will be nine months old while Prince George will be two and three quarters. He accompanied William and Kate on their tour of Australia last year.
A royal insider was reported as saying: “Nothing is certain yet but these things must be planned miles in advanced. It certainly won’t be a holiday.”
An aide to the Governor General, who as the Queen’s representative in the Bahamas would be responsible for the arrangements, was reported as saying: “I am not able to confirm any information but I refer you back to Buckingham Palace for their schedule.”
Speculation in the UK media about a tour of the Caribbean began when the Duchess re-arranged the traditional Middleton family start-of-the-year holiday to Mustique, bringing it forward to November to accommodate planning for the potential tour.
The Queen and members of the Royal Family have toured the Bahamas on several occasions - in the course of their Caribbean tours of February, 1966, and February, 1975, and during the Silver Jubilee tour of October, 1977. There was a further visit to Nassau for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October, 1985.
The Queen last visited the Bahamas in March 1994. Most recently, Prince Harry visited in March, 2012, during his tour of the Caribbean for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Independence Day celebrations in 1973 were attended by the Prince of Wales, acting as the Queen’s special representative.

tag pay roll your baby, royal on not, around in some fancy buggy. That's more than we local man's pay for a horse drawn buggy to rides we tourists up down streets Nassau Town.

Are their in enough 'Royal Watchers' still in the Bahamas to warrant a visit? Must be more pre-election propaganda to get some people all excited. If they must come this way, send them to Abaco or Exuma, not New Providence.

Colonial slave master, exact. Born into privilege, nothing fascinates me about these people they have not earned anything. I respect hard working people that have sacrificed to earn a position of respect and honor. Please don't obstruct traffic for these lazy people.

Given the above two comments, it would be best for the Royals to vacation at Winderemere Island. Why bother with the dog and pony show in Nassau with people like TruePeople and Bahamianpride. If it was not for the elites of the UK and the USA investing in places like Winderemere, Harbour Island and Cotton Bay, Eleuthera would have never developed. Perhaps instead of ridiculing the history, cultural and touristic contribution of the Royals to the UK, they should focus on how long Cotton Bay has laid fallow since being snapped up Snake and his crew at bargain prices. Get a life and get on with it.

These Slavers are remarkable. The Europeans bought the slaves from AFRICANS who sold them, but I have never heard anyone curse a black man for selling his people into slavery. Very strange ! If I buy a turkey from Junior Roberts why should I or he be guilty of killing the turkey. The guy that killed the turkey is guilty. I don't know why these slavers don't go back to Africa to live.

Africans sold out other Africans, but you like you ein want to wait for that you ready to sell out ya self. The investments you speak of for Eleuthera are the result of business persons, and not the crown, and definitely not these two insults to hard working people everywhere, and especially in the UK, as it is those individuals who make that baby carriage, these royal visits, and whatever fanciful living expenses possible for these extortionist. The Haitian gardeners have done more for this country than those two clowns

This comment truly displays the level of ignorance in this country and massive lack of knowledge of local and world history. I am sure TruePeople probably is a supporter of having psychological evaluations of proven foreign investors wishing to invest in this country. These same investors will prefer to invest with the ultra socialist government of Cuba as they know at least the people are literate and not finger pointing all day long to cover their own inadequacies.

My bad. I'm illiterate (obviously), and was wrong for supporting the idea of an independent Bahamas. Or shoots, maybe I still have faith in the Bahamas as an independent nation. My bad, according to you we're all useless and reliant on 'foreign investors'. As for accusing me of Freddy boy tactics, I didn't vote for him, but it's the PLP that's in power off of the same anti-foreigner rhetoric, so mussee most Bahamian is dumb like me aye?
Do you remember when the Crown sent Edward VIII here in exile to get rid of him because he was deemed an embarrassment? Obviously the Royals have as high a regard for the Bahamas as you do for them my friend.

I been diggin for a Royal Baby Pushbuggy disclosure to act as an imagination eye opener, directed at my new dear friend Comrade Digimagination.
"Kate Middleton asked for special features for George's Royal Pushbuggy including an insect net. George's Royal Pushbuggy was a cross between a traditional Pushbuggy for Royal babies and a more modern baby Pushbuggy. While it came at a hefty price, heritage Pushbuggy editions from Silver Cross can easily sell for £49,000 British pounds."
Jesus Bless your too conservatively on the cheap side of a Royal Pushbuggy imagination,
for a Royal baby heir!

Regardless, seriously you have historical and factual amnesia. Our neighbor American is disgusted with anyone who calls themselves Royals, please enter the 21st century. A civil war was fought to free themselves from these Brits and although they had slavery as a stain on their history u don't see them worshiping or kissing the butts of Royals like us. It is the slave mentality that keeps us from progressing and the kiss ass mentality of the snowball character in Dejango that makes us enemies of our own people. We keep our own people poor with second class education, jobs and systematic discrimination. Our society is full of people like u who get ahead move out to the perimeter and look down on the rest. I believe that all of mankind should be equal and have equal rights, I unlike u don't like people who don't earn their place in life. I have respect for the hard working people of the world who labor and earn right to live lifestyle that they have work hard to live. These people have not labored or earned anything, so in my mind they don't deserve my respect. The comments of many have nothing to do with ignorance, it has to do with respecting those that work hard, make contribution, or lay down their life to deserve our honor.

No slave mentality here Bahamianpride, you can keep that craziness all to yourself. As to your comments on the Americans and Royals, obviously you do not follow the press coverage of the Royal Family visits there, I am not a Royalist however I am not jealous of how people are born into this world. I am however, disgusted to see how consecutive governments since majority rule have produced such a massive high percentage of ignorance in the population which they have been able to manipulate for their individual person gains. There is no respect or lawfulness in the society anymore, if we can say we even have one now. Then again, you probably did not notice as apparently you feel the Royals are to blame, I doubt highly the Royal's are present while ignorance is breeding ignorance in this island chain at an unprecedented rate. No worries, I am certain you will not be invited to any receptions. I certainly do not plan to be but I am sure many you consider wonderful leaders will.

TruePeople. You recent comment confirms why investors find it next to impossible to find properly educated people to work in their enterprises. As to love, it is more than evident given this nation is 12th in the world in murders how much Bahamians love each other. I strongly suspect you are among the tens of thousands of voters that look at an election as an opportunity to sell the next five years of your life for $100.00, a tee-shirt and a half pint. As to the results of my personal procreation, rest assured my offspring are well educated and grounded. I pray for the future of this nation that you are sterile.

The perambulator is an heirloom so it cost them nothing, lots of people have them in the UK they cost about $80.00 on ebay. And REALLY Who Cares!? The Royal Family do a lot for charity and they better the lives of people throughout the world, (More than the naysayers) yes they were born 'lucky' but I wouldn't wish the life they are duty bound to endure on my worst enemy. Stop thinking like a slave and you will clearly understand that yourself. Don't be intimidated by 'Royalty' and you wont have an issue with it, simple. They work hard too Prince William is a Helicopter pilot and he has royal duties on his time off.
And of course it will be good for the Bahamas if they visit, a royal visit bumps up the economy in every country they visit, it's free press and a good opportunity for free advertizing and lord knows we need a boost of Good News! Don't be so bitter and negative all the time it makes you appear jealous, try and just see things for what they are not what sinister conspiracy you dream up, they could just go to Cuba like a lot of our ex-tourists.
