POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found slumped over in his car after crashing into another vehicle yesterday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 9am.

According to Inspector Harry Williams of the Traffic Division, officers were called to the scene of an accident near Mackey Street. When they arrived, they found the lifeless body of a Caucasian male slumped over the wheel of his car.

“Sometime after 9am this morning, a traffic crash occurred on Pyfrom Road in front of building number 65, involving two vehicles,” Insp Williams said.

“The vehicles were travelling west when they stopped in traffic, the vehicle in the rear crashed into the bumper of the car in the front of it. When the driver of the car in the front got out, he noticed the male slumped over the wheel. The victim was assisted by residents from the area and pronounced dead on the scene.”

Insp Williams said an autopsy would be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Police have not identified the victim, but The Tribune understands he is attorney Greg Roberts.

Police have also identified the man who died as a result of a traffic accident that occurred last Friday as Ticoyo Dwight Bain.

Police said Mr Bain was travelling on his motorcycle west on Carmichael Road on Bahama Boulevard when a car travelling east turned across his path. There was a collision which resulted in Mr Bain being thrown from his bike. He was rushed to hospital where he remained in critical condition before he died on Monday.

Insp Williams said police are still determining whether charges will be pressed against the driver of the vehicle involved in Friday’s accident.

Was about to turn onto Bar 20 Corner from Mackey Street when I saw the blue police van and yellow POLICE tape. Driving pass saw lots of bystanders and other police vehicles. Traffic was diverted through Baltic Avenue and then onto Mackey Street. Wondered what had happened.
