SONITH Lockhart, of Carib Construction, was on fire in City Bowling League competition last night while mowing down the pins for a gigantic 734 three game set which is a record so far for the 2015 - 2016 season.
The other members of the exclusive 700 club this season are Kevin B Williams with a 708 and Lee Davis with a 706. Lockhart also had a 257 high game to go along with his MVP performance. Runner-up was Ken Brathwaite of Telco Enterprises who had a big night also with a 249 high game and a 644 second high set.
The ladies’ MVP of the evening was Joy Lockhart of Coca Cola Avengers with a 212 high game and a 569 high three game set. Lockhart was followed by Driskell Rolle of TK Falcons with a 552 second high set. Tara Culmer of Island Game Strokers dropped the pins for the second high game of 205.

TRACK 5K/10K RUN
FAST Track Management is all set to host its first 5K/10K Scholarship Run and its Fast Track Winter Classic 10am December 19 at the Grand Bahama Sports Complex.
There is a fee of $12 for children and $3 for adults to participate. All proceeds from the run will benefit one deserving student. Registration forms are available at all fitness facilities, Pollo Tropical and The Copier Limited 2 in Grand Bahama.

THE Champion Boxing Club is scheduled to hold the Final Round - 2015 - Fight to the Finish, the 21st edition of the annual Ray Minus Sr End of the Year Amateur Boxing Tournament December 19 at the Nassau Stadium, Fowler Street. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children.
The main event will be the welterweight championship match between Trae Davis of Freeport and Lennox Boyce of Nassau. Another featured match is Daedae Eugene of Nassau against Glovels Escament of Abaco.
The show will showcase boxers from Champion Amateur Boxing Club, Freeport Boxing Team, Abaco Boxing Team, Major Pain Boxing Club, Strikers Boxing Club and the Lion Heart Boxing Club.
Awards will be presented to the most improved boxer, most outstanding boxer, best fight of the tournament, boxer of the year and the Ray Minus Sr Trophy winner. All amateur boxers and boxing clubs are welcome to participate.
Minus congratulated the Major Pain Amateur Boxing Club for successfully hosting and winning the inaugural Ray Minus Jr Amateur Boxing Show held November 28 at the Nassau Stadium.

ROBERTS LOST
JUSTIN Roberts, playing in the Dominican Republic Futures $15,000 Tournament, lost a keenly contested match to Juan Ignacia Galarza in the main draw yesterday. The 21-year-old Galarza from Argentina, who is ranked at 415, pulled off a 6-4, 6-4 win over the 19-year-old Roberts, who is a sophomore at the University of South Florida.
The match, according to Roberts, was a very good one for him to test his skills against the more experienced and highly ranked players.
Roberts had a big victory in the qualifying round when he upset No. 8 seed Samuel Shropshire, who plays No.1 for Northwestern University and currently has an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division 1 singles ranking of 34.
Roberts also got wins over Stephen Madonia of the United States and Jody Maginley of Antigua in the qualifying rounds.

THE Bahamas Association of Athletic Coaches (BAAC) is scheduled to hold the annual Bay Street Mile on Saturday. The event, dubbed the “fastest race in the Bahamas,” will begin in front of the straw market on Bay Street and end up at the Bahamas Football Association’s Soccer Field at the foot of the Sir Sydney Poitier Bridge.
The categories include male and female under-15, under-18, under-20, under-30, under-40, under-50 and 50-and-over.
Awards will be presented to the first three finishers in each category.
Early registration closes 4pm Friday at the BAAA office at the original Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium. The entry fee is $10 per person.
SOFTBALL
BSC SOFTBALL
POSTSEASON
RAIN washed away the start of the Baptist Sports Council’s 2015 Softball Classic postseason in the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Tuesday night.
The BSC is scheduled to resume play 7pm Thursday when St Paul’s plays Macedonia in the co-ed opener. That will be followed by the men’s feature contest between Macedonia and Charles W Saunders.
A full slate of games will be played on Saturday as the BSC will attempt to complete the best-of-three playoffs.
The best-of-three championship is tentatively set to start on Tuesday, December 15.
