A 16-year-old Doris Johnson Senior High School student was stabbed multiple times and killed yesterday afternoon during an argument with several other school students shortly after school was dismissed early because of exams.

The murder took place shortly after 2pm on Prince Charles Drive, less than a mile from the school’s campus.

This latest killing brought the country’s murder count to 139 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said the victim was walking on Prince Charles Drive near Blanco Bleach when he got into an argument with several other juveniles.

“Police are actively investigating a fatal stabbing. What we do know right now is just shortly after 2pm some male students were involved in a fight by Blanco Bleach on Prince Charles Drive resulting in one of them being stabbed several times. The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries,” ACP Dean said.

“We are following leads and based on what we know we should have this matter wrapped up soon. We are looking for two to three males we believe are involved. We want to use this opportunity to talk to our young men in particular, when it comes to conflicts and disputes the way of the knife or gun is not the way to resolve them. The police will continue to be vigilant and we applaud the school officials who defuse these incidents.”

Police have not released the identity of the victim, but The Tribune understands he is Auddy Wilson, a 12th grader at Doris Johnson Senior High School.

ACP Dean said police had no motive for the murder yesterday, but were following “significant leads.”

A graphic video of the incident spread on social media yesterday. The short video, shot on cell phone, shows several boys runnung towards the victim and attacking him. At one point in the video, one of the alleged assailants is seen wielding a large knife before plunging it into the victim while others held him as dozens of shocked students looked on.

The Ministry of Education released a statement on the matter yesterday.

“While our schools have adopted a zero tolerance for violence on campuses, we wish to remind our students that violence off school is also not tolerated.

“Today’s event is most unfortunate as the life of another young man has been taken. We must encourage our young people to resolve their conflicts in a more peaceful manner,” the statement continued.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim and our thoughts and prayers are with them and the Doris Johnson school family as well. We are deeply saddened by this tragic event that occurred today and once again, we call on all citizens to unite to promote a spirit of peace and love this holiday season and throughout the New Year.”

The ministry also said a special assembly will be held for Doris Johnson 12th graders at the Grace Community Church beginning at 9am Thursday.

Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Young men intoxicated with violence. What a shame.

Where are the fathers of these adolescent boys, is my question.
My father would have "wailed my tail" with his belt if he ever found out that I was in the streets fighting.

To many of these boys are growing up without responsible fathers.

Failed State, no point in blaming anyone, too late for that, we have "ALL" failed at creating an independent Nation that we could be proud of. Sad, but true, even the UK would refuse to take back such a backward, violent and corrupt former Colony. As with "Baha Mar", could the last "Survivors" of this Conflict Zone at least turn off the Lights, as with "Baha Mar", they still remain on, like the Sun that continues to rise each morning on this once Beautiful Country, but there is nothing worth illuminating any more and certainly no one to pay the Bill, as like "Baha Mar", the Nation is broke too.

Bahamian men and women!.....those of you that are lousy fathers please get out of jail and the bars and some woman's bed and get your sons in order! You lousy men are the reason the country is falling apart. Thank God for the Bahamian fathers that do raise their children properly; the rest of you need to step up or ship out to another country with your badly raised spawn! The rest of us are tired of the havoc that your bad parenting is wreaking on our country. Same goes for you mothers that don't teach your sons and daughters right from wrong. I am all for mandatory sterilization of persons that have no business reproducing. These kids that kill are victims too. My heart goes out to the family of the boy that was killed.

The reason why today's youth is more inclined towards violence and aggression are the movies we are watching. Consciously and unconsciously we learn many things are sometimes good for us and our environment and sometimes not. These bad vibes creates frustrations, stress, agony among the youth. I think they should get education peacefully and alteast try to be more focused towards studies.[Practice makes man perfect][1].
