TWO MEN are recovering in hospital today after they were shot multiple times on Thursday morning.
According to reports, shortly before 11am, two men were at Allen Drive, off Carmichael Road, when a man armed with a shotgun fired several shots at them before fleeing the area on foot. One of the men was shot in the back and leg and the other in the hand.
The victims were taken to hospital where they are listed in serious but stable condition.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
A 32-year-old woman is in police custody after she was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police say shortly after 3.30pm on Thursday, officers from the Southwestern Division acting on intelligence went to Bacardi Road, where they recovered a 2003 red Honda Fit vehicle that was reported stolen on December 22.
The suspect, who was the driver of the stolen vehicle, was taken into custody in connection with this matter.
Police are also on the hunt for the four men who were involved in two separate armed robberies on Thursday.
In the first incident, shortly after 2pm, two men armed with a handgun robbed a convenience store on Jennie Street and Balfour Avenue of a laptop, three cellphones and an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
In the second incident, around 8pm, two men armed with a handgun robbed a service station on East Bay Street of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on a black motorcycle.
Police also arrested 40 people for various criminal offences, including murder, armed robbery, house breaking and stealing during an anti-crime operation.
The operation, according to police, targeted people involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists breaching the traffic laws.
