BAHAMIAN authorities apprehended five immigrants and seized a vessel last week in Pinder’s Point, Grand Bahama.
A Jamaican man, with four Haitians, including a juvenile, were spotted getting off a vessel in the bay area, near the public cemetery, around 3:24pm on Thursday.
Acting Assistant Superintendent Advardo Dames reported that a team of officers acting on information went to the area with immigration officials.
They saw a vessel moored on the shoreline, with several persons disembarking.
Officers moved in and arrested a Jamaican citizen, and four Haitian nationals – two adult males, one female and a minor.
They were all handed over to immigration officials.
