A TEENAGE girl died Sunday evening after she was thrown from a jet ski in waters off West Bay Street.

According to police reports, shortly after 7pm, two teens were on a Jet Ski driven by a male operator, when the jet ski capsized.

The jet ski operator was reportedly able to rescue the two girls, after an intense search, and take them to the shore.

However one of the girls was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not identified the victim, but The Tribune understands she is 18-year-old Tanisha Smith.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations continue.

Shooting

A man is in critical condition in hospital after he was shot during an argument outside a nightclub on Arawak Cay.

According to reports, shortly after 2am on Monday, a man was involved in an argument with another man outside a nightclub that resulted in the suspect shooting the victim twice in the mid-section of his body.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Investigations are continuing.

Armed robberies

Police are also asking for the public’s help in solving three late night armed robberies and a sexual assault.

In the first incident, shortly before 11pm on Sunday, a man was parked at a service station on Carmichael Road, when a male armed with a handgun robbed him of his silver Nissan Camry vehicle before speeding off.

In the second incident, also around 11pm, police said a woman was driving her silver Kia SUV west on Carmichael Road, when two males in a silver Nissan Camry vehicle armed with a handgun forced her to stop. The two men abandoned the silver coloured vehicle and robbed the woman of her car before speeding off.

Police recovered the silver coloured vehicle and discovered that it was the Nissan Camry taken earlier during the armed robbery at the service station.

In the third incident, shortly before 1am on Monday, a man was about to enter his 1998 dark Dodge vehicle after leaving a nightclub on Minnie Street with a female friend, when two males armed with a handgun robbed him of a cell phone, cash and his vehicle. The suspects then forced the woman into the vehicle and took her to the Soldier Road area where one of the males forcibly molested her. The woman was taken to hospital where she received medical treatment.

Police are searching for the two suspects and vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

Investigations continue.

Observer says...

What is a Nissan Camry vehicle? Or, perhaps its a TOYOTA. With this misunderstanding, that vehicle will never be identified. It doesn't exist.
