TOMACINA Culmer has resigned as Miss Bahamas Universe due to personal reasons.
The Miss Bahamas Organisation released a statement last night announcing the 23-year-old Grand Bahamian’s resignation and thanked her “for her service to the Bahamas and to MBO over the past few months. We wish her every success in her future endeavours.”
On her Facebook page Miss Culmer - known to her friends as Tomii - posted: “To my wonderful followers I take this time to inform you that due to certain circumstances and situations I felt it necessary to relinquish my title as Miss Universe Bahamas 2014. I thank you all for your love and support during this life changing journey.”
Miss Culmer represented the Bahamas at the Miss Universe contest in Miami in January.
MBO said it would make a determination on the future of the title in the coming weeks. The process of choosing a new titleholder at the Miss Bahamas Beauty Pageant scheduled for August 23 will begin shortly.

They didn't chose her 'thisisours'. She was in a contest and won, not randomly chosen for her beauty. Anyway, wish you all the best with your future decisions.

Let her wash that war paint mask off of her face first. Then we will see how beautiful she really is!

Unfair. The makeup makes her look better but it's clear that she's a pretty girl

Probably fed up with broken promises. I remember years ago one of the queens was given a hooptie to drive with a hub cap missing. I keep hearing about how these girls never get their prizes. I want to hear why on this one. She is beautiful!

I would say she is beautiful, ONLY if that is her real hair.

Yeah that is a problem. I am sooo tired of hearing talk show hosts talk about getting your eyebrows right and nails and feet and outfit etc etc. all that is fine, but I rarely hear anyone asking *so I hope you get that grade point average right, you showing up to work on time? You produce what your employer expected? What books have you read lately*. It's so annoying to me that we perpetuate that style us more important than substance. And we wonder why our cabinet ministers are so dumb, but they look good being dumb. It's because that's what we glorify.

Weird, did she appear in this article and say I'm the most beautiful girl in the world? Well:) on second thought...I guess that's what entering Miss Universe as a contestant says for you:) I would hazard a guess that she knows she's not the most beautiful girl in the world but she just likes to look good, she doesn't do it so a bunch of men can pick at her. Let's just admit that she's pretty, she could shave her head, no makeup and she would still be pretty. Added to that she has poise. I've never met her but if she has substance too that's even better.

Comrades why the nasty revolt against a woman who not only represented her country at home and abroad but did it with class? The only thing left is for you to lift up her skirt and talk her private business.

Nobody's interested in her private business or lifting her skirt. The conversation seems to be more about "the definition of true beauty". Why women think men find multi colored faces attractive is a mystery.
If you meet a woman these days better take her to the beach first and throw her in so as to SEE what she really looks like without the mask. Meeting a "beauty" and waking up next to coyote ugly happens to many all too often.

Comrade SP, I smile cuz the next woman you meet will be demanding get a advanced peek at your package. Pretty fair on her part I'd say not wanting to option, for a too small surprise further into da romance.

I don't think this girl falls in that category, she's clearly pretty . Her makeup isn't that dramatic and the hair isn't hiding her face

The only difference between 'reigns' and 'resigns' is the additional 's' and since we don't know the reason we can only speculate. Many a beauty queen after winning a pagent come to realize that the role of representing a country like the Bahamas is not all the glitz and glamour it appears to be at first. And appearing before certain audiences can be a hostile experience, even for a beauty queen.
