BRIAN “Keith” Aranha, son of prominent businessman Keith Aranha, died in Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday night, family members confirmed yesterday.

Keith Aranha is the owner of Keith’s Chicken Shack on Fleming Street. His son was shot multiple times in February of last year at his home off Baillou Hill Road.

Details of the incident have never been fully released but The Tribune understands two masked gunmen walked into the victim’s home and shot him twice before fleeing on foot.

Police, at the time, did not believe the shooting was a robbery as nothing was taken from the home.

It is unclear if Mr Aranha died as a result of those injuries, but close friends said “he never recovered” from that shooting.

No one has ever been charged in connection with the incident.

Friends and family of Mr Aranha took to social media yesterday to mourn the life of a man they described as “cheerful, loving and one of the best men this world has ever seen.”

One friend wrote: “God takes some great angels from the world, and now the great Lord has his hands and heart absolutely full with this great man’s heart named Brian.

“God Bless your family ... and give them the courage that in time, they will know you will never leave them, and are always watching over them as (you’re) in God’s good hands. Justice will be done.”
