Disgust at the deplorable state of our roads

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Kindly permit me space in your valuable columns to express my utter disgust over the deplorable state of our roads. For safety of life and limb one has to memorise the  numerous potholes throughout New Providence.

East Bay Street is a virtual minefield east of the Paradise Island Bridge. On the other hand, jaw-wrenching craters exist from Fox Hill Road, Bernard Road, Village Road and beyond.

If road maintenance is an essential service, the ministry responsible has failed us daily and miserably...

Moreover, the driving public is bearing the costs and sadly paying carrying charges for that ministry as well.

So true. Unless you drive a tank, you need to budget for frequent tyre replacement.

Try the Out Islands if you want to see bad roads. This Government does not care.

Good infrastructure leads to a better economy.

If the Government cared they would do something about it. Instead they keep their friends in their cushy jobs at places like Bahamasair etc.
