THE family of Mason Hart, the young college graduate who was discovered dead in Abaco in July, held a gathering in Katy, Texas, on September 19 to celebrate his life.

Hart, 24, was discovered naked floating in waters near Scotland Cay on July 29.

An autopsy has found that Hart’s death is consistent with drowning, and the matter has been forwarded to the Coroner’s Court for final determination.

Shortly after graduating from Texas Tech University in May, Hart went to work on Tucker’s Tales, a sports fishing boat in The Bahamas. On July 28, he went out in a dingy to local bars and there is a video footage of him during his last moments.

According to his sister, Lora, the footage shows “evidence that Mason was not alone on the boat that night”.

His family has hired a private investigator and has offered a $5,000 reward for any information that can help in the recovery of Hart’s boat, which is still missing.

The family has raised over $8,000 through a Go Fund Me page that was created to cover funeral expenses.
