I saw a post on Friday of an elderly man with dementia that went missing in Lyford...hopefully it was not him. Very sad if that's where he ended up.

Said on FB (Facebook) that he was found.

Quote from the family does not sound all that great though...could be a match...

"Thank you all very much for the help today. The search has been called off. Try to keep the details away from the kids for next 24 hours."

Okay. The response I read didn't have all of that, just that he was found.

What idiotic comments from some people. The man was elderly and suffered from dementia. He wandered off and was later discovered dead in the Lyford canal. There's no story here, no conspiracy, no mystery, just a grieving family who has lost their husband, father, grandfather and friend. I won't post the name out of respect for the family, but can't we all just offer our condolences instead of stupid and insensitive remarks?

The headline to this article may be factual, but it is certainly insensitive. Both the writer and the editor failed to consider how they would have wished for the headline to read if the deceased had been a close member of their own family. "Apparent accidental death of a man in Lyford Cay" would have read so much better.

how come lyford cay is get BLUE lights, but the rest of the island is get red lights in these crim report???
