LIVINGSTON Forbes, chief architect at the Ministry of Works, was quoted in an article in The Tribune on August 28 as saying repairs to the Staniel Cay airstrip would take 12 months to complete.
Mr Forbes has asked us to point out that he said he was commenting on the rebuilding of Staniel Cay All-Age School, not the airstrip, when telling our reporter about the project being tendered and ready for opening in September 2016.
The airstrip should, in fact, take 12 weeks to complete according to the Minister of Works, Philip “Brave” Davis, on Tuesday.
The facility has been closed since April to the frustration of residents and local businesses.
