Re: Urban Renewal spends $7M on home repairs (The Tribune, September 8).
In some countries, if roughly $10,000 per home repair is spent on 700 homes, say from a political slush fund, it can result in a fair amount of voter goodwill.

Exactly what Urban is, a slush fund. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when they are doling out the contracts. Someone should record them doing so.
