A TROPICAL depression in the mid-Atlantic Ocean has gained a little strength but is expected to weaken, according to the US National Hurricane Centre on Thursday morning.
The depression’s maximum sustained winds are near 35mph and forecasters expect some weakening during the next few days and that it could degenerate to a remnant low pressure area by Saturday.
The depression, which is centred about 1,065 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and moving northwest near 7mph, formed on Wednesday morning and does not currently pose a threat to land.
