AN AMERICAN man died on Saturday morning after apparently drowning while snorkelling off Cabbage Beach, Paradise Island.

According to police reports, shortly after 10am, the man from Massachusetts became unconscious in the water. Despite extensive CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) efforts the man was declared dead by a medical doctor.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death and investigations are ongoing.
