Police seize gun thrown from car

POLICE seized a firearm that was thrown from a car after suspects led officers on a chase in the Blue Hill Road area.

The incident happened after 12.30am on Monday.

Officers received a report of gunshots being fired in the area of Lobster Avenue off Blue Hill Road, police said. When officers from the Southwestern Division arrived on the scene, they saw a dark blue Honda Accord speeding away.

The officers pursued the car but the occupants of the vehicle eluded them, police said. However, the officers recovered an unlicensed shotgun thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit.

Police are also looking for three armed robbery suspects who stole a man’s car on Sunday.

According to police, shortly after 2pm a man was sitting in his vehicle – a black 2009 Honda Accord license number 194724 – in front of his home located at Linkford Street in Dan Nottage Estates when three males armed with handguns approached in a silver coloured Nissan Note. The men robbed him of his car before speeding off. The vehicle was last seen in the Nassau Village area, police said.

Investigations into these matters are continuing
