AN armed robber was beaten unconscious after attempting to rob a local bar in Freeport early Saturday morning.
According to reports, the owner of the establishment and patrons managed to subdue and disarm the suspect who was armed with a shotgun and wearing a ski mask.
Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that shortly after 2am, an armed masked man held up a business on West Atlantic Drive and robbed the patrons of cash and personal items.
But before he could get away, the suspect was disarmed and detained by the owner until the police arrived.
The establishment was in disarray, with broken furniture and blood all over the floor, following the incident. A photo of the alleged suspect lying bloodied on the floor was circulated on social media.
Inspector Pinder said a suspect was handed over to police and is expected to be charged in court this week.

Excellent! Glad to hear it.
I hope they poked his eyes out so he can't do this crap again when our justice system lets him go in 9 months.
