Apology to Sir Arthur

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I would be grateful if you would kindly publish this note of apology to Sir Arthur Foulkes, who has confirmed that he is not the writer of the article published in The Guardian of June 2 under the nom de plume Simon. I would appreciate it if you would give the publication of this note the same prominence as was given my letter. Thanks kindly.

“It has come to my attention that Sir Arthur Foulkes has issued a statement confirming that he is not the person who writes under the nom de plume Simon of Front Porch of The Nassau Guardian and did not author or issue the column of June 2 which accused me of supporting the Leader of the Free National Movement for personal benefit and/or gain.

“I fully accept Sir Arthur’s statement unreservedly and publicly apologise to Sir Arthur for the mistaken identity and for any damage my response to the offending article may have caused him, his character and/or his family.”

I I always read sir Arthur's columns when he was a columnist for the Tribune. In my view he was not mean spirited. So I always believed Mr: Smith had the wrong man accused. The writer of that column has a mean spirit

some people enjoy gambling. There is something called free will, no one has to gamble. The same persons who gambled when it was illegal, are the same ones who gamble now They are able to make decisions for themselves as to how they wish to spend their money. some buy liquor or shoes or false hair or paint their nails or buy expensive bags. It is their God given choice.**

Wow ! A former cabinet minister and ambassador going to such lengths on innuendos to
lambast someone who considered him a friend. Disgraceful! At least Sir Arthur now knows
how C.A. thinks.
