VANDALS broke into the Free National Movement’s headquarters over the weekend but stole nothing, according to officials.
FNM Chairman Michael Pintard said the front glass of the office was broken, but there does not appear to be any further damage. He stressed that headquarters was intact and fully functional, adding that there was no evidence of a political motive.
The party’s main office at Mackey Street was broken into some time between 10pm on Sunday and early Monday morning.
Mr Pintard said: “We have previously had break-ins, and attempted break-ins. We’ve also had a fire in the past. With respect to this matter, to the best of my knowledge and speaking with staff, nothing was taken. Aside from broken glass at the front, the headquarters is intact and fully functioning.
“We have been very careful despite the fact that tensions are high over any number of subjects, including the recent revelations in the case circulating.
“We don’t want to ascribe any political motive to what has happened. The police are doing investigations, we’ll let the police do investigations and hopefully they are able to find out who did this based on fingerprint dusting.”
