TALL Pines MP Leslie Miller has forcefully denounced the growing transgender community in this country while urging people to financially contribute to having this sect of society exiled to their own private island to ensure “they stay out of the way” of generations of Bahamians who are depending on the success of the June 7 referendum.
While pledging to give the group its first $1,000 toward this relocation, Mr Miller told The Tribune that it was his constant prayer that “God would come now and just end the world” as their actions “go against His will”.
The former minister of trade and industry also dismissed the concerns of Bahamas Transgender Intersex United (BTIU), which last week made its debut at a press conference calling for equal rights for transgender Bahamians.
In response, Mr Miller said: “If you want to like man, that’s your damn business but don’t try to impose your will on other people.”
He told this newspaper that he was of the view that members of the transgender community were currently being treated equally because “they are men therefore you go and live like a man, you are a woman (so) you live like a woman.” This he said was equality in the eyes of God.
BTIU representatives have called on the Christie administration to ensure that the fundamental rights of all genders of Bahamians - male, female and transgender - are protected.
“I have children and grandchildren and we (are in) a society that is already fractured with all the damn crimes and things that are happening in our country,” Mr Miller said when contacted for comment. “Why is it that everybody has to have their own way in our country? We are supposed to be a Christian nation and all you got is fighting between one church and the next.
“These transgender, or whatever you call them, is against the will of God so why would we as a people want to go against the will of God to have these people say what they want from what they don’t want. You are either a man or a woman.
“God should hurry up and come and get this over and done with so we don’t have to worry about them. Just come stop the world.”
He continued: “If God sent you here to repopulate the world for us to live in society in harmony and in peace, (why) you have people who don’t want to produce any babies and who don’t have the capacity to produce children? What purpose do they serve here on this earth? Tell me what purpose they serve? Man can’t make babies with man (and) woman can’t make baby with woman. What purpose (do) they serve?”
Asked if he believed that the public opinion on the transgender and gay communities could affect the outcome of the referendum that seeks to ensure both men and women have equal rights in the Constitution, Mr Miller said they should keep their “sadistic” and “sordid” actions to themselves.
He added that if Bahamians allowed the views of a small group to cause the vote to be unsuccessful, it would be the electorate’s fault.
According to BTIU spokesperson Alexus D’Marco, there are more than 50 transgender male, female and youth living in the Bahamas.
“So what do we do? Just give them some place where they could go and (be) safe,” Mr Miller said. “Everybody make a contribution (to) put them on a nice island and just play with each other for the rest of their lives if that’s what they want to do.
“Because they ain’t going to make babies. So soon they’ll die. You got to be able to produce to have the next generation so that will be the last generation of them.
“I will be the first one to make a contribution to them. I’ll give them $1,000 right now. Build them a nice beautiful setting on a nice cay and say this is Eden right there and they go right there. To us it would be Sodom and Gomorrah, but to them it would be Eden. Put them in Eden with beautiful flowers and beautify the place. This has got to stop. When is enough, enough, man?”
Question four of the upcoming referendum, which has been the source of heated debate and much opposition, will ask voters to eliminate discrimination based on sex in the Constitution by inserting the word “sex” into Article 26.
Some critics think that this could one day lead to same-sex marriages, but the government has denied this as a possibility and stressed that the focus is solely on gender equality.
BTIU representatives have said they aren’t looking to shift the focus of the referendum, but they want to use the national conversation on equality to be all encompassing.
BTIU has stressed that there are no laws to protect transgender and intersex Bahamians.

Where does one start pertaining to such an article? First this man needs to have his medication adjusted. He has valid points but he has them thrown in with so much ignorance and hate. Nonetheless it is his opinion. Regardless of a person's sexual orientation, he or she should be treated with respect and not shipped off to a deserted island. Yes I am concerned about what kind of country and world my child will face when he becomes an adult. I can only train him in the way he should go and teach him to respect other persons regardless of how much he may disagree with their choices. At the end of the day the person who sleeps with someone of the same sex is not going to a hotter hell than the married folks sleeping with someone that is not his or her spouse. Yes certain sins the Bible calls an abomination, but at the end of the day all sin will get us to hell. Mr. Miller, just like the rest of us, need to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, before we are so quick to call for The Rapture. Some of us may be shocked to find ourselves in the same hell has many of these persons who we feel are less than us. I love you doesn't mean yes do what ever you want. It simply means I won't discriminate against you but you will know that I am not ok with your lifestyle. The same way I will let anyone who is in error know they are in error. I am not without sin so I cannot cast the first stone. My being content to live as the gender I was born into and marry someone of the opposite sex doesn't absolved me of the other sins I have committed. Be careful Mr. Miller. This is not something someone in your position wants to give out to the world even if it is how you feel. I agree I do not need to know who anyone is sleeping with whether it be a heterosexual or homosexual relationship or whatever. If you are two consenting adults God will deal with you as he also will deal with me.

For divinity's sake, why won't the Tribune stop publishing like it is a tabloid? Every stupid thing that comes out of a politician's mouth becomes the headline. Newspaper houses in this country behave like political groupies. The Tribune knows that Leslie Miller simply says stupid things about any and everything because he can and because reporters keep putting mics in his face to capture the latest clown fest. This guy is not even a Cabinet Minister if you want to take the pecking-order route. No other MP is sought after like him because media houses are simply looking for sensationalized stupidity to print. Can we please get some actual journalists in this country and focus on what is going on in The Bahamas, and what is going on in the region and throughout the world that impacts the The Bahamas?

We can deduce that Leslie Miller supports the removal of sterile men and women along with anyone who is past virility without producing heirs!
Since if we tie the value of life in so called "Christian" terms, without producing children, we are shams.
Mr. Miller calls for God to come now and end the world.
I wonder if his son's several illegitimate kids are an act of tribute to daddy. Because his line is producing children. The true purpose of the followers of Christ.
The sad part is, I like Mr. Miller's seeming honesty, as it let's it be understood who you are talking to. Whether he sounds like a fool or not, I respect his ignorance. However I find that his views are too similar to the likes of Martin Ssempa.

Comrade Tall Pines MP Pot cake Leslie has now forcefully denounced his difficulty since back in May 2014 to once again attempt to donate that $1000 cheque, the Pot cake first attempted to donate to "safe houses for battered woman's," but was denounced with the blunt words that “the acceptance of the MP’s money at this time would be contrary to the principles that guide their work for victims of domestic violence."
I guess we will have to await the reading of the former BEC Chairman's, MP’s Financial Disclosures to learn if he has in fact paid his debt outstanding for electricity used but not paid for - to determine whether the Pot cake, is really in a financial position to be donating unpaid light bills moneys to be urging others to exile an entire Transgender community to their own private island to ensure “they stay the hell out of the way” of generations of Bahamalanders.
Comrades, I couldn’t possibly have created this Pot cake, cartoon of a character. This MP is for real – nothing made up about this MP.

When did ignorance become a point of view?
"The ignorant, are ignorant, of their ignorance!" Peter Baskerville
"Bigotry is the disease of ignorance, of morbid minds. Education and free discussion are the antidotes of both" Thomas Jefferson.
"Ultimately, the social engineering aspect of things will backfire on those nations that show themselves indifferent to equal rights of race, women, (as well as gays), and position themselves as anti-education and anti-science. These nations will experience and emigration of the educated, upwardly mobile strata of society. Leaving behind a de facto nation lead by leaders of unquestionable ignorance, morally bankrupt and fearful of their own delusional views of the world. These depraved leaders will be not just their own undoing, but responsible for the creation of a society full of such depravity, of which, only the devil could love" Martin Luther King
"We keep on being told that religion, whatever its imperfections, at least instills morality. On every side, there is conclusive evidence that the contrary is the case, and that, faith causes people to be more mean, more selfish, and perhaps above all , more stupid." Christopher Hitchens
"Its better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool, than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt." Mark Twain
"without doubt the most ignorant person now alive on the planet; also without doubt he is an idiot, an idiot of the 33rd degree, and scion of an ancestral procession of idiots stretching back to the Missing Link." Mark Twain
"Start in your mind with an ‘empty canvass’ – then sketch, in broad outline, the forms of the men, women and children- ESPECIALLY the children – beautiful alive happy little children.
Dip into the unconscious inkwell of your own disowned darkness, and with a WIDE brush – stain these strangers with the sinister hue of the shadow. Now you are getting it!
Trace onto the faces of ‘the different’, the greed, hatred, and cruelty – you dare NOT claim as your own. Strip them of all dignity and humanity – ease your collective consciences in knowing that they are nothing more than “Fags” or "Lesbians” or “trans-genders” as they are so cruelly termed by our brave religious and political leaders.
Obscure the sweet individuality of each and every face – ESPECIALLY the children! Then erase all hints of the myriad of the loves, hopes, and fears that play through the kaleidoscope of every finite little heart.
Twist the smile on every face – ESPECIALLY the children – until it forms the downward arc of cruelty. Strip the flesh from bones until only the abstract skeleton of death remains. However you accomplish this as long as they are reduced to soulless sub-humans – inferior to our precious religious and political culture." Heywood Jablowmi

Hey Sheeprunner12, you might feel that these MPs speak for you, however I don't think you will find many who agree.
First of all, one big flaw of the "democracy illusion" is that you elect leaders based on what they say during the "political race". However, when the lies and false pretences of their party platform, the only real bases of which we have to make our voting decision, shine through, we are left helpless with no efficient means to remove these same leaders from power.
So we are duped, or at best, victims of choosing the lesser of evils during the election, only to find out we have some mildly or even horribly psychotic / delusional / ignoramuses at the wheel for the entire term of government.
Perhaps most importantly; not only do they not represent us, or carry out the will of the people, but rather they run amuck, lying cheating and stealing the country and people blind for their full term in office.
The "democracy illusion: is nothing other than a carefully crafted scheme in which the people are tricked into electing members from (in our case) one of two factions of the same political / ideological team, albeit, they operate under different party names; names aside, they're either part of the ruling class, or pawns of the ruling class, and either way , their goals are to farm the people of all their wealth, while doing their best to propagate the illusion of "democratic governance for the people". And it's not enough that they take all the wealth you have at the moment, but no, they need to borrow "for the country" to create a larger pool to syphon off, mortgaging the wealth of future generations.
They no more represent our interests, than any leader of another nation does. The election process is one of division of the peoples, and one in which the majority are duped into taking the responsibility for the actions of the "leader" they voted into power.
If in doubt, ask yourself, how it is that they can be so clever in looking after their own interests, and appear so incompetent when providing for yours? "lest the people will think you're a thief."
Another case in point, ask yourself when the last time you witnessed a leader actually answering a direct question, they never do, all they do is obscure and evade; if they represented you, and really had your interests at heart, they would answer to you.

John says...
The biggest problem with transgender persons is when they sleep with unsuspecting males or females and don't inform them that they had a sex change. This is very devastating, especially for young men when find out they have sleep with a 'female' who once was a man. Some of them never recover. These people they consider to be *freaks of nature*, and many trans-gendered persons have been seriously injured or even killed for attempting this deception. If a man wants to sleep with another man or with a man who changed his sex, let him do so by choice, not by deception. Because of the equality bill trans-gendered persons do not have to disclose that they had sex change operations. Also statistics show that more than 60% of persons who have sex change operations regret their decision and some go as far as to try to have the operations reversed. Some become suicidal. These persons are, many of them, confused by their sexual identity. As for banishing them to a separate, isolated island, this idea is far fetched, if not totally off base. Yes persons who decide to change their sex should stop deceiving unsuspecting persons from sleeping with them, and by so doing even destroying lives, but should have the same opportunity to repent their sins and strive to see God's face, as everyone else. The bible admonishes that "***all have sinned and come short of the glory...***

John the problem, ie the sickness of religion lies in its history, and wavering story. The bible says slavery was good, it even says you can beat your slaves as long as they don't die. Exodus 21.21 Women are property, homosexuals should be killed, burn witches for their imaginary crimes.
When it comes to morals, notice, that society has progressed IN SPITE of religion, not because of it. Women now have rights, and can vote, we don't burn witches because we now know they don't really have powers, we don't allow slavery, we don't allow and would now criminally charge parents for burying their children in house foundations to appease the "weather gods" .
If you follow any religious text literally society would be morally bankrupt.
We have made many improvements , due to putting religious dogma aside.
The biggest problem with religion is it is not being honest. To be honest, the religious would have to accept that most of the text was bad / evil. Instead religious people say these are metaphors, yet somehow they used to employ these tactics described in the bible word for word; but now they are just metaphors??? Be honest, admit is was horrible, and admit there are no facts to justify your beliefs. Pray to god if you will, believe in him/her if you choose, but at least be honest and admit what it is.
For society to move ahead, all must be equal, even when different. I don't feel comfortable with a lot of these new "ways of society" , but that doesn't give me the right to treat people badly. And certainly a book of tales, many of which are awful, certainly doesn't give anyone "high moral ground" to stand on and say gays / lesbians / transgenders are bad.

Ah there ma fella. . .if you ever been to "higher learning" you should know that polematic anecdotal evidences does not prove anything except you are angry at something. . .in this case. . .the religion of another and the concept of an atheistic historical progression!
But to be honest. . .you are not making a cogent rebuttal of the possibility of the existence of the substantive role of religion in history! You are just shooting off at the mouth. . .Richard Dawkins style! We see your hate but your rapid fire put downs do nothing to intelligently expound your position!
I would agree that to state the "good" of religion in historical progression should have substantive markers in history to substantiate a claim for consideration. . .in contrast, a polemic rant does nothing to establish your claims of the bad of religion in human history either!
Case in point. . .the very calendar you use is the result of religion. . .so is the sets of numbers we use on a daily basis! And if you check closely, ALL laws in any land is the direct outcropping of religion. . .their tenants. . .especially the Jew!!
Check it if you don't believe. . .ALL LAWS COMES OUT OF THE TEN COMMANDAMENTS . . . a national/social codification said to have come from the Jewish God. . .to govern a theocratic nation!! I know some religion can be "rant" in themselves. . .but to throw out the baby with the bath water is not the way to get a rebuttal across. . .it just show you are angry! Keep in mind to "rant" the God of others out of your mind only rids him in your "words". . .not even in your mind! Too much evidences force you to "think". For example, how did our cosmos come into existence. . .abiogenesis or biogenesis? How come you can answer that question and no other cosmologist can do so. . .no astrophysics theorist can either. . . no quantum physics expert can and you could by your rant!
