FORMER Free National Movement Chairman Michael Pintard yesterday said he would “pull no punches” when he speaks to the failures of the current administration and the leadership flaws within his own party at a private rally next week.
Mr Pintard told The Tribune he planned to speak candidly on national issues in a call to action for Bahamians to become more involved in the country’s future. The rally is not an official FNM event; however, Mr Pintard said he expected attendance from “many FNMs” as well as other organisations. He added that he was still a proud member of the FNM.
“This will be nothing tame,” he told The Tribune.
“There are some very real issues that I intend to touch on. To examine the Progressive Liberal Party’s record, what was it that they promised and what is it that they have delivered up to this point.
“I will also talk about leadership in general, opposition forces and the need for selfless and collaborative leadership that is needed to replace a government that is not delivering better for the Bahamian people.”
He said: “So opposition forces have to find a way to put aside some of the differences to look at what is in the common interest of their organisations and more importantly common interest of the Bahamian people, and then do what is necessary to replace this government.
“Some of the chatter that is going on, some of the fighting whether it is within an organisation or between opposition forces is unhelpful in ensuring the PLP is gone when the next election is called.”
In March, Mr Pintard resigned as chairman of the FNM and as a senator over his involvement in the court action against Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard.
Mr Pintard has maintained that his resignation was important to allow the public to focus on the issues and not an FNM official, and served to rob the PLP of having the ability to use him as a distraction.
Yesterday, the former chairman said he planned to speak openly about the issues and controversy that led to his resignation.
Mr Pintard said: “Persons who see things different than the PLP are savaged by them and their operatives. People who oppose them are more than savaged, they are targeted, that is the overarching message.
“This government is dangerous to democracy, free speech, free thought, and freedom of expression. I am simply challenging Bahamians to stand up and fight for their country.”
“And resist the type of politics the PLP and their operatives are using to inspire fear and intimidation among Bahamians who simply want to improve quality of life in the country.”
Mr Pintard noted that although he has been invited to speak at private events, the rally will be his first public platform since he resigned as a party executive.
“It is a call to action for Bahamians,” he said.
“If I never gave another public presentation, if people come to the general conclusion that I’m not a person to carry a banner anywhere, I’m saying to folks the state of the country is as such that we need new leadership.
“And with the amount of talent we have in the country, there is no reason we should be in the position we are in culturally, economically, socially.”
Under the theme, “This Change is Unstoppable”, the event will take place at Workers House next Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Under the theme, “Obviously, this Change is not to also include telling the public, all about what lead to the resignation as red party Chairman?
The on and off red Comrade must not be associated with the red party - seeing it will take place at "workers House."
Wouldn't you have be skeptic about using hourly minimum wage workers and red party in the same sentence?
Comrades whatever happened to - just go away - silently?

The first thing the playwright should do is tell the Bahamian people what he was consulting Callenders and Callenders about..Also what was in doing in Bains Town with Bullard and the other man and he should also explain his voice on the tape. Pintard try your best not to be as foolish as you appear. Do you think this whole affair will just go away . It will not. You are in need of a lawyer and not the out spoken QC.

This is how arrogant and dismissive of the public these pseudo politicians are. They can resign in scandal and still approach the public as though they are owed the public's devotion and support.

Exactly, like we really need one more wanna-be diva telling us what we already know about both the PLP and the FNM, and who in his case, was part of the problem that is today's FNM.

Agreed. Pintard is a good man, and it is amazing that the PLP has been successful in convincing the people otherwise.
Jesus spoke with tax collectors and sinners. That does not mean Jesus was on of them.
We should speak with everyone. Otherwise you only have half the story.

Comparing Jesus to Pintard. Oh yes, that's entirely logical...

Comrade was that before or after Jesus grabbed cords and with his newly made whip, Jesus dud whip the backsides the 'money changers' and overturned their tables, before he droves them out in yard?
WHO exactly is the one - best known to be the red party's main money changer - cause even to this day we do not know who handled all the money for this disgusting thing that has been in the news?

This is the "getting up morning" for more than doc and Pintard!! For example, did the FNM put brave, Nygard in the car. . .did brave took the recording of THE MEETING of Pintard made in that lawyer office. . .how did Nygard get the recording of Pintard made in the meeting at the Hilton. . . did the incident occurred that bobo and toggie said that brave and nygard instructed them to carry out. . . did the PM conspired to "gee" Nygard the whole dang nation so to speak if he fund their party election bid. . .and last but by no means least. . .DID THE GO BETWEEN MAN IN THE FNM WHO CONNECTED BOBO AND TOGGIE WITH PINTARD CONNECTED TO ANOTHER HIGH FNM LEADER ASPIRANT? All this information is in the "public" document published by the Tribune!
And make no mistake ma fella. . .the PLP DID NOT MAKE ANYONE OUT HERE THINK THAT THE FNM "DIRTIER" THAN THEY ARE. . .THE FNM THEMSELVES TIRED TO "JOOK" EACH OTHER IN THE BACK LIKE BLACK CRABS AND AS A RESULT OF THE EXPOSE, THE NATION WAS WATCHING BUTLER-TURNER AND CREW AND HER APPARANT "PAL" AT THE NATIONAL REVIEW ENGAGED IN A "SCORCHED EARTH POLICY" AT THEIR OWN PARTY LEADER. . . WHILE DELIBERATLY "IGNORING" THE ROLE LBT PARTY "PERSONS" OR PLP PLAYED IN THE TOGGIE AND BOBO SAGA. . .EVEN TO THE EXTENT AN APPEARANT TURNING A "TOTAL BLIND EYE" TO THE EVIDENCE OF PERSONS INVOLVED AT GROUND-ZERO AND FOCUSED TOTALLY ON DOC!! The national review "grilled" Rollins about the "fish" . . .looking for "slop" on the doc. . .not caring on jot about the rest of the story it appeared to "SOME OF US" when WE read that paper.
Now "Rollins-gate" comes around where the e-mail to the doc is leaked. . .YES. . .LEAKED BY THE NATIONAL REVIEW. . .WHICH APPEARS "VERY" CONNECTED AND KNOWINGLY OR UNKNOWINGLY AN ADVOCATE FOR LBT THROUGH HER GOOD PAL OVER THERE!! THIS IS HOW IT SEEMS TO SOME OF US OUT HERE!
Pintard will "dirty" other persons in his party if he tells all. . . including that "lawyer" who acted as "broker" to Bobo, Toggie and them white people out of Florida!! The information will also tell which one of the FNM leader aspirants that lawyer does be "creased up" with!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Noticed which one "een saying nutting". . .Lol!
this ger be long!!!
