Three in hospital after New Providence shootings

POLICE IN New Providence are investigating three separate shooting incidents on Tuesday night that have left three men in hospital and are asking for the public's help in locating the suspects responsible.

Shortly after 9pm, a man was sitting in his vehicle with a female friend at Stokes Cabana, Yamacraw Beach, when four men with firearms approached and robbed them of a cell phone. The suspects then shot the man before fleeing in a red vehicle.

The victim was transported to hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.

Shortly after 10.30pm, a man was walking in the area of John Road and Market Street when a man with a shotgun approached him and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

Shortly after midnight, a man was standing outside a house on Homestead Street, when a man with a handgun approached him and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

Police are also seeking a man responsible for the armed robbery shortly after 10pm of a man who had just pulled up to his home on Johnson Terrace. The suspect, who had a handgun, approached and robbed the man of his grey Honda Accord licence number 21224 before speeding off.

Did they ever release the anticipated 2016 "crime strategy" that was supposed to impart "limitations on person's freedom of movement"???

We read these stories in the newspapers and hear about them on news broadcasts regularly so it is easy to become desensitized. It is not normal for a man to be shot after being robbed of a cell phone. Is there a solution to the problem of crime in this country? Why are the hearts of our young men and women so cold?
