THE Regulators dominated the overtime period and closed the game on a 10-1 run en route to the win.

Alexander Rolle outscored the Rebels all by himself in overtime when he dropped 10 of his game high 31 points.

He also added six rebounds and three assists to lead four Regulators in double figures. Kenneth Pratt had 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals while Renaldo Baillou added 14 points and eight rebounds and Miguel Mackey dished 10 assists.

Adorn Charlow led the Rebels with 24 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Theo Ferguson also added a double-double – 14 points and 10 rebounds, Brian Bain scored 22 while Antario Collie and Ron Marshall each finished with 13 points.

Tied at 99 headed into overtime, Mackey got the run started with a three pointer followed by five points from Rolle on a short jumper and another three.

Rolle essentially ended the comeback from the Rebels with a three to give the Regulators a 115-106 lead with 58 seconds left to play. They would outscore the Rebels 21-8 in overtime when Rufus Dean made the game’s final field goal.

The Rebels took an early seven-point lead on the first of Bain’s six three-pointers (11-4) but the Regulators responded with an 11-3 run of their own to take their first lead of the game on a Pratt three-pointer.

The Regulators took the first quarter 27-24 but the Rebels had their best defensive effort in the second as they regained the lead. They limited the Regulators to just 18 points. Tied at 40, the Rebels went on a 9-0 run capped by a Marhsall jumper and took a 49-45 lead into the half. Both teams scored 27 in the third and the Rebels maintained their four-point lead headed into the fourth, 76-72.

The Rebels led 95-90 with 1:21 left in but Simon made a three to keep the Regulators in contention. Charlow split a pair at the line, and Mackey scored a layup to pull his team within one, 96-95. Both teams traded free throws down the stretch until Pratt was fouled with three seconds left and converted both at the line to tie the game at 99 at the end of regulation.

Division I play continues tonight with a matchup between the Rockets and PJ Stingers.

Aliv Bucket Team – 89

Triple K Stampers – 75

Dylan Musgrove and Johnley Noel put up major numbers in their head-to-head matchup, but the Bucket team’s third-quarter run proved to be the deciding factor.

Musgrove finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, three steals and seven blocked shots to lead Aliv to the win.

Noel led the Stampers with a game high 26 points, 13 rebounds and two steals.

Musgrove led four Bucket team members in double figures. Rashad Ingraham scored 19, Akiel Bullard added a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and Kieran Mortimer scored 11.

Tamiko King and Cameron Strachan chipped in with 11 points each for the Stampers.

Noel gave the Stampers a two-point lead with six minutes left to play in the third quarter but Musgrove scored six points and assisted on another two field goals to help his team close the period on a 19-4 run to take control for good.

Ingraham tied the game at 44 on a layup followed by Musgrove’s jumper to take the lead and he assisted on two field goals to Layvonne Moxey. Ingraham ended the run with a pair of free throws to give his team a 61-48 lead headed into the fourth quarter.

The Stampers quicked the pace of the game with 103 field goal attempts, but shot just 25 per cent for the game while the Bucket Team shot 44 per cent and had eight more field-goal makes.

Musgrove and Bullard also led the Bucket team to a 58-44 advantage in points in the paint. They also scored 36 fast-break points while the Stampers managed just six.

Aliv opened the game on a 7-2 run but the Stampers worked their way back into the game. A tightly contested first quarter saw four ties, eight lead changes and a 21-all score headed into the second.

Neither team led by more than six points in the second quarter and the Stampers’ Michael Turnquest made a jumper to tie the game at 36 headed into the half.

The Stampers never threated in the fourth quarter as the Aliv lead grew to as much as 20 at one point.

The Division II schedule continues tonight with the Elite Basketball Club taking on the defending champion Breezes High Flyers.
