A man was found dead in Acklins on Sunday morning, hours after he was involved in a violent altercation.
According to reports, around 8:30pm on Saturday, two men were involved in an incident at Masons Bay, that led to one of them being hit with a bottle and the other stabbed with an object. The two men were transported to the local clinic where they were treated by the island's doctor and later released.
Then, around 8:30am on Sunday, the lifeless body of the man who was stabbed earlier was found outside his home in Delectable Bay.
A suspect was later arrested and taken into custody.
Central Detective Unit officers from New Providence are in Acklins assisting with this investigation.

Acklins? Seriously ACKLINS??? The 'harmless' liquid that has our Bahamaland submerged, must be involved in this, LITERALLY BLOOD MONEY. Thank goodness Marijuana is still illegal, they both probably would have still been alive today if it wasn't. Anger+Alcohol is a dangerous concoction. Condolences To The Family. #R.I.P

Many of these Out Island communities are one notch above "pirate strongholds" ....... and as rough as Bain Town, Fox Hill or Pinewood ........ Ever visited backroad Bimini, Gregory Town, Murphy Town, Burnt Ground or Salina Point?????????

I don't disagree that many of these places are "One notch above pirate strongholds" but not sure your point. I've been to Murphy town as well...

Jamaica Bay is the outer bight where Jamaica Cay is located. . . Loftus Roker lives in Jamaica Bay (the only family who lives there). . .that is south across the creek from Leon Cooper's Bar. . . Delectable Bay is about 1/3 mile to the north . . .inland from Jamaica Bay! Most islanders just call the whole area "Lectable" Bay. . .however, Mr. Roker will never let any one tell him that he lives in Delectable Bay. I suspect that the person killed is one of the children of Joel Cooper. . .tough crew. The last time someone was killed in Acklins Island was 1979. . ."Boito" Hanna, who lived next door to Leon Cooper's bar (stabbed with a pickax). . .he was killed by a Mr. Knowles. . .man from Long Island. . .who was the boyfriend of an Ackilns woman and living with her there.
