Hypocrisy of Brave

EDITOR, The Tribune.

HOW can Philip ‘Brave’ Davis fix his mouth to say the PLP does not support the proposed wage raise for MPs? Either the leader of the opposition is extremely forgetful, or else he believes it is the Bahamian people who have no memory.

Just to remind Mr Davis, only a few years ago, when the PLP was in office, he said salary increases for Parliamentarians would “remove the temptation for politicians to do things that are not right. Because if they (MPs) are earning a living by doing this, then there would be no need for them to do anything else, I think that’s what the Bahamian public has to understand.”

Now, he says the “personal needs of well off politicians” should not come before the needs of the people. I wonder what could have changed?

Most likely, what has changed is that Brave now finds himself out of power and in need of ammunition to throw at the FNM. So his old opinions are conveniently disposable if they will help him attack the government and score cheap political points.

That, for Mr Davis’ information, is called hypocrisy.
