Former PMs go from rivals to lunch partners

FROM doing battle in the House of Assembly, former prime ministers Perry Christie and Hubert Ingraham were facing one another over the dinner table instead.

The pair were snapped as they shared lunch at Olive’s on Paradise Island yesterday.

And despite regular sparring over the nation’s finances, the ample “hog snapper” dish showed there’s no need for belt tightening after a life in politics.

Yinna joking right?? "Rivals"??? You all forgot about the Christie Ingraham and Co. law firm eh?

Title should read "From Law Partners to Political "Sparring" Partners to Former Prime Ministers to Lunch Partners".

Well done, Christie and Ingraham - one law firm controlling the fate of the country from 1992-2017.

Time longer than rope. These two failures ran out of time some time ago.

Why Ingraham would expose himself in public with a yet to be prosecuted felon is beyond me!

Birds of a feather flock together! Ingraham is no more innocent and probably more corrupt than Christie. These two watched each other back all the way to the bank. Soon they will have to will watch each other back in Fox Hill!

I can totally understand why they would need each other right now. Both have a lot more in common that we would even guess.

Because he's one as well.

Go check out the ill-gotten gains at Ed Curlings house in Old Fort Bay. Papa has a very expensive yacht out there his PM's salary couldn't justify.

This is why I don't get caught up in politics, I like it, I see they move on beyond politics, in fact it was a political act for their followers.

Comrade TigerB, moving on beyond politics is made that much more comfortable to digest ya fancy lunches when both former law partners are collecting very attractive pensions from the public purse. The same short cash public purse that can't pay all others.

*Both of these honourable gentlemen are getting very large pensions after working as prime minister for only 8 years, The country cannot afford to be so generous even though one of them arguably does deserve it, the other deserves nothing for his disastrous term presiding over a cabinet of ministers tarred by allegations of egregious corruption. The wife of the Bahamas first prime minister continues to receive his pension despite the fact that she only worked for a short time her whole life. When the drug smeared PLP Pindling was first given this pension by his sycophantic cabinet colleagues I remember being surprised to fin out that it was so much higher than that of the British prime minister who had governed 55 million instead of our paltry quarter million. But this is just how we third world counties do things, look at Zimbabwe right now.

Comrade BaldBeardedBahamian, I can just hear Pindling's golden voice when St, Peter stopped Lynden demanding to know what he did back on Bahamaland to justify his entrance though the pearly gates... and Pindling looked St.Pete straight between the eyes and said, Man, have you no idea what it was like as leader the PLP, and as prime minister, to have worked with Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie. The man earned every red cent he public purse pensions.
