PRIME Minister Dr Hubert Minnis and his wife, Patricia, yesterday donated 140 tablet devices to the students and teachers at Gambier Primary School.
Dr Minnis, in his capacity as member of Parliament for the constituency of Killarney, said through the donation he wanted to ensure every student at the school had the same advantages offered to children enrolled in private and more central institutions across the country.
He stated: "We want to ensure that you have the same foundation as is given in every school. The private sector should have no great advantage over you.
"What we are doing here today is donating to you and every teacher, donating one tablet for each individual so that you can become more computer savvy."
Gambier Primary was officially adopted by Dr Minnis and his wife shortly after he entered public life.
Mrs Minnis visits the school every Wednesday for reading sessions with students.
Dr Minnis also celebrates his birthday every April hosting a party at the school.

Thank you Dr. & Mrs. Minnis for leading by example. It would be fantastic if more Bahamians took a personal interest in a public school, investing in public education. These tablets may be the only one that many of these children would have ever seen at such early stages of their education.

It's good but not enough!,as PM this is a very small gift,he should do that and more in every primary school and the best gift would be for everyone including those children : for him to undust the "Abandoned Effort" of anticorrupt policies to put behind bars every cabinet member from the past and current administration involves in Terrible Acts Of Corruption With Large Amounts of money with evidence found by the team of auditors who know the ABC of auditing and also evidence that might be collected by DPM as a Minister of Finance and on the other side,Minister of National Security. The best gift is to add transparency regarding handling the Public Pulse and to enact "Freedom of Information Act" together with the effective approach to tackle CRIMINALITY which is long overdue, pls!.
No more abuse of the money pay by the tax payers. Anticorruption Campaign should never stop, it's a noble effort able to produce tangible results.
Anyway! Congratulations to The Prime Minister & His Wife for giving those tablets or Ipads to the children of Gambier Primary School. Bravo!!!.
